In this workshop, students will construct and personalize their own tote bag using hand sewing techniques and fashion embellishment methods. Participants will begin by assembling a tote. Once the tote structure is complete, students will transform it into a one-of-a-kind fashion accessory through custom fabric patchwork, appliqué, embroidery, and bead embellishment. The class focuses on creative expression through textile design, encouraging students to experiment with texture, color, and composition to develop their own visual language. By the end of class, each student will leave with a fully constructed and uniquely customized tote bag that reflects their personal style and creative point of view.

● Sewing machine
● Machine needles
● Thread
● 1 yd of fabric
● Assorted fabric scraps for patches (cotton, denim, felt, etc.)
● Embroidery floss in a variety of colors
● Embroidery needles (for beads and detail work)
● Seed beads, pearls, sequins, or decorative beads
● Embroidery hoop (6 inch recommended)
● Fabric scissors
● Pins or sewing clips
● Fabric marking pencil or chalk
● Ruler /Measuring tape
● Pencil and sketch paper for planning designs
